CLYDE D. MUMPER
Clyde D. “Butch” Mumper,
56, of 459 Donegal Springs
Road, Mount Joy, was strick-
en fatally about 7:30 p. m.
Saturday. Feb. 17, while driv-
ing his automobile.
He and his wife, Kathryne
Warfel Mumper, had left
home just minutes before the
fatal attack to visit friends.

Lutz home. Mrs. Mumper
was not injured.
Donegal
Mumper had been under
the care of a physician for a
heart alment. Deputy Coron-
er Dr, Thomas W. O’Connor
was called.
He was born in Blain, Per-
ry County, a son of George
and the late Elsie Berrier
Mumper, and had resided in
Mount Joy for 5C years.
He had been employed as
a salesman by the Garber Oil
Co., Mount Joy, and previous-
ly had been a route man.
Mumper served, in the U.S.

Navy in World War II. He
was a member of the Mount
Joy Church of God, a past
president of the Mount Joy
Lions Club, and a member of
the Mount Joy Sportsmen's
Assn. and the Mount Joy Fire
Co.
He is survived by his wife
and father; two daughters,
Sylvia, wife of Donald Zeller,
Mount Joy, and Cindy Mump-
er, at home; two grandchild-
ren, and these brothers and
sisters: Mary, wi‘e of Warren
Eshleman, Wrightsville; Ralph
Mumper, Neffsville; and Car-
rie, wife of Martin Ney; Mil-
dred, wife of Norman Mateer
and George Mumper, all of
Mount Joy.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday afternoon from the
Sheetz funeral home and bur-
ial was made in the Eberle
cemetery.
JACOB BRUBAKER
Jacob E. Brubaker, 79, of
Mount Joy R1, died unexpect-
edly Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2:30
p.m. at his home. He had
been under the care of a phy-
sician.
A retired farmer, Brubaker
was born in East Donegal
Twp., the son of the late Jac-
ob E. and Mary Erb Brubak-
er. He was a resident of the
township all his life.
His wife, Barbara Nissley,
Brubaker, died in 1965. Bru-
baker was a member of the
Mount Joy Mennonite church.
He ‘is survived by one son,
Paul N., Mount Joy Rl, five
grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
Also surviving are the fol-
lowing brothers and sisters:
Henry E., Daniel E, and Jonas
E., all of Mount Joy RI;
Mary, wife of John Hess, Mt.
Joy; Annie, wife of Elam M.
Musser, Columbia Rl; and
Elmer E. of Mount Joy R2.
Funeral services were held
from the Nissley funeral
home Tuesday morning and
burial was made in Kraybill’s
cemetery.
FENTIE J. SHAEFFER
Mrs. Fentie J. Shaeffer, 95,
of 325 W. Donegal St., died
Monday morning, Feb, 19, at
Pleasant View Rest Home,
Manheim R3, after a long ill-
ness.
She was the widow of G.
Samuel Shaeffer who died in
1942. Mrs. Shaeffer was born
in York County, daughter of
the late Samuel D. and Susan
Mundis Waltimyer. She lived
in Mount Joy the past 75
years.
She was the oldest member
of Chiques Methodist Church
and was in the Women’s So-
ciety of Christian Service.
Her father served the Union
in the Army of the Potomac
during the Civil War.
Surviving are a son, Jos-
eph G. Shaeffer, Mount Joy; a
daughter, Mrs. Lida S. Wel-
don, Pleasant View Rest
Home; three grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren and

a brother, William Waltimyer
106, of York, Pa.
Funeral services were ar-
ranged for Thursday, Feb. 22,
from the Heilig funeral home
and burial was to be made in
the Eberle cemetery,
CLAUDE H. KREINER
Claude H. (Red) Kreiner,
2051 Mill Stream Road, Lan-
caster, died Thursday, Feb.
15, at the General hospital
after a long illness. He was
69.
A native of Mount Joy, he
was a life-long resident of
the Lancaster area, and a
number of years ago was ac-
tive in baseball activities. He
was a self-employed painter.
A son of the late Henry
H. and Oliva Hoover Kreiner,
he is survived by his wife
and two nephews.
Funeral services were held
from the Fred Groff funeral
home, Lancaster, on Monday
morning, and burial was
made in the Eberle cemefery,
Mount Joy,
GILBERT D. HAMM
Gilbert D. Hamm, 70, of
48 Old Market St., died in
St. Joseph’s hospital at 4.45
p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, after
an illness of two weeks.
He was born in McCartney,
Pa, and was a son of the
late William and Ellen Vin-
