She demonstrated her theory that a knowledge of handwriting analysis can aid in better understanding of people and their problems. Mrs. Jack Cunningham has been named chairman of the music division of the Fine Arts Dept. of the club. The voting machine proposal carried a five-vote edge in Nov. 7 bal- loting. The sixteen ‘‘yes” ab- sentee votes gave it at least a 17-vote total edge. #* * ¥ The Hempfield high school senior class presented its 3- act play, “If a Man Answers” at the Centerville junior high School Auditorium in Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17-18. The play is a romantic comedy about the love of Chantel Stacey, played by Krista Durock, whose French mother, Germaine, cast by Debbie Lawrence and Boston- ian father, Richard Dum, are constantly drawing her from extreme liberalism to extreme conservatism. Other cast members were Brad Bentzel, Liz Jones: Bon- nie Forney, Marc Francy, Jim Smith, Enrico Tucchiani. The Models were Abby Guffman, Sandy Holsinger, Valerie York and Pat Holahan. Broske, School Lane, counsellor at’ Hemp- field high school, were a- mong those who attended a conference sponsored by the Wilson College Office of Ad- missions for guidance people from Pennsylvania and west- ern Maryland, Nov. 16 and 17. The group was welcomed to the campus by Paul Swain Havens, a Rhodes scholar and president of the college, who explained that Wilson was founded in 1869 as one of the nation’s first colleges for women. He reported that Wilson has an enrollment of 741 students representing 30 states, Washington, D. C,, Puerto Rico, and nine for. eign countries. At one of the sessions, there was a simulated meet- ing of the Admissions Com- mittee in which the actual credentials of unidentified applicants were examined and evaluated.
