There’s ample parking, the

there’s plenty to do and see.
This summer, the park is
particularly beautiful, with

Yes, Mount Joy can be
very proud of its parks!

Ready Children
To Begin School
For preschool children and
their parents, beginning
im-
portance. Between now and
September, parents will give
considerable thought to get
ting children ready for
school. Both short-term act-
ions and long-term planning
will be involved, says Mrs.
Marguerite L. Duvall, exten-
sion specialist in child de-
velopment of Penn State U.
Physically, the goal is a
strong, healty body. Long-
range planning for this can
include building good habits,
sential as the physical one,
reminds Mrs. Duvall. Child-
ren need to grow and devel-
op mentally, socially, and
emotionally to be ready for
the milestone of beginning
school.
Parents can help their chil-
dren to meet this new chal-
lenge by enriching their ex-
periences and stimulating
their curiosity. They also can
teach them how to meet new
situations without fear and
how to play with other child-
ren their own age. Helping
children to be ready for
school will make this new
experience a pleasant one,
Mrs. Duvall adds.
It cost operators of a 3,400
from annuals to prolong their
blooming period.
