Hamilton, Randy Hamilton,
Bill Wagner, Bill Smith, Da-
vid Blake, Tom Miller, John
Penwell, Leonard Wallander,
"Wally Brought and Bob ‘Glat
tacker. Their leaders, Marlin
Miller, Banks Wagner, Harry
Fry and Paul May also spent
sometime at the camp during
the week.
Mette Haug is spending her
third week with the Lawr-
ence Barnharts. Mette is a
very quiet well-mannered
young lady from Harstad,
Norway. She is very appr-
eciative of everything
that is done for her. Mette
especially noted how much
time we Americans spend in
our cars. She says they have
small cars and very few of
them. Most people walk or
ride bicycles. She is studying
to be an elementary teacher.

up will be presented at the
half-time festivities. The
igame is sponsored by the
| Wheatland Sertoma Club.
Judging will be held Tuesday
evening, July 25 at a dinner
{given in the cheerleader’s hon-
sor at Overlook restaurant by
the Wheatland Sertoma. Each
candidate will give a short
talk and be judged on poise,
personality and appearance.
The cheerleader vying for
the title from Hempfield is
Miss Susan Elaine Harry,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Melvin Harry. A graduate of
Hempfield high school, she is
18-years-old and plans to at-
tend Millersville State Col-
lege, majoring in elementary
special education.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Starr,
84 East Main Street Landis-
ville, announce the engage-
iment of their daughter, Ruti
Ann Starr, to Steven Rein-
hold, son of Mr. and Mrs. Le-
roy Reinhold, Mount Joy R2.

The bride-elect, a 1966
graduate of Hempfield high
school, is attending Millers-
ville State College. She is
employed by the Landisville
Branch of the Conestoga Na-
tional Bank. Her fiance, a ’66
graduate of Donegal H. S. is
attending Elizabethtown Col-
lege and is employed by
Reinhold’s Service Station.

club met on Wednesday even-
ling, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. at
ithe Mount Joy American Le-
gion Post Home. The pro-
gram for the evening consist-
‘ed of records played by Hor-
race Reichardt on the topic
Psycho-cybernetics.

The Hempfield Union School
Board inspected the Center-
ville School west wing on
Tuesday, July 18. The audi-
torium and music areas are
the only rooms not completed
‘by the inspection date. All
desks and cabinets have been
installed.

Miss Linda Rhen, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Rhen of 425 Main St., Landis-
ville, became Miss Hempfield,
!at the annual contest sponsor-
ed by the Jaycees on Satur-
day, July 15.
Miss Rhen was crowned by
Miss Pennsylvania, Doris Ann
Lausch, who one year ago be-
gan her beauty climb with
the same pageant. For her
talent part of the program
Miss Rhen played a piano
solo, “Prelude in A Minor”
by Debussy.
Named first runner-up for
the contest, as well as Miss
Congeniality, was Donna Her-
shey, 17, daughter of Christ
G. Hershey, 47 Summer St.
Salunga. Pamela Helfrich, 18,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John Helfrich, 355 Lynn Ave.

John Reber, Jr., of Church
Street, Landisville, was re-
cently awarded his master of
business administration de-
gree at recent commencement
exercises at Temple Univer-
sity, Philadelphia.
COMPLETES TRAINING
Pvt. E-2 Robert H. West-
phal, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert H. Westphal, Sr., of
Atlantic City, N. J. has re-
cently completed AIT train-
ing at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.
He successfully finished the
food service course and be-
came a first cook while at Ft.
Leonard Wood. Bob, who isa
former resident of Colitnbia
and Lititz, is now stationed
in Alaska, where he will
spend the next six months.
