Sacred Concert
At Chiques
“The Gospel Variations”
will give a complete sacred
concert in Chiques Methodist
Church, Route 230 East of
Mount Joy, at 7:30 p.m. Sun-
day, March 19.
This musical youth group
consists of Fred Gantz and
Roy Armold, both students
at Elizabethtown College;
Dennis Burgard, at Penna.
State university; and Judy
Buchenauer and Marjorie
Sloan at Donegal high school.
They are members of four
area churches, Chiques, Cross-
roads Brethren in Christ,
Green Tree Church of the
Brethren, and Maytown
Church of God.
The group has appeared in
a number of local and county
churches and are scheduled
for concerts in Lancaster and
Philadelphia. Their coach
and accompanist is Mrs. Mil-
dred H. Sloan.
The program consists of
Quintet arrangements of Gos-
pel Songs, Trumpet Trios,
and Duets and solos. Some of
the numbers on the program
are: “Count Your Blessings’,
“Whispering Hope”, “I'm on
the Battlefield for My Lord”,
“Battle Hymn of the Repub-
Le”, “Ivory Palaces”, “I
Walked Today Where Jesus
Walked”, and ‘Hallelujah,
What a Savior!”
The public is cordially in-
vited to attend this program
of inspiration in song.
