Arrest Pair
Eor Deer Theft
A pair of juveniles discov-
ered that stealing a deer can
be a sad experience!
The lads, one 17 and the
other 16, landed in the clut-
ches of the law last week af-
ter they are alleged to have
stolen a newly-killed deer
from the home of William
Vogle, West Main street,
sometime before midnight on
Tuesday, Nov. 29.
The prize kill made a
day earlier, included a nice
8-point rack and Vogle imme-
diately notified all law en-
forcement agencies, including
the game wardens.
The investigation led to
Keck’s Meat Market in Col-
umbia, where the boys —
one from Rheems and one
from Mount Joy—had taken
the deer to be butchered.
The juveniles were taken
into custody and referred to
juvenile authorities. One is
said to have had previous ex
perience with the law.
