As a supplement to that

upon the Marietta Memorial

However, from there on,
the planning for the new
building is still a matter of
speculation.
It appears probable that

Offers World-Wide
Advertising Plan
Central Eastern Pennsyl-
vania industries can now ad-
vertise their products all ov-
er the world through a pro-
gram developed by private
power companies, including
Pennsylvania Power & Light
Company.
The new program, accord-
ing to S. F. Diffenderfer, PP&
L’s Lancaster division vice-
president, is titled: “U.S. Pro-
ducts for Export Catalog
Files”
He explained that through
the catalog services of the
World Trade Information Cen-
ter, Inc., and follow-up ser-
vice by the Export Marketing
Service of the American Ex-
press Company, systematic
circulation of product infor-
mation will be assured.
“Every working day,” said
Diffenderfer, ‘American for-
eign service posts around the
world receive 9,000 inquiries
about products made by U. S.
manufacturers.”
The program will work
like this: product literature
or catalog of the subscribing
company is bound in the U.S.
Products for Export Catalog
Files for appropriate product
category. The files are then
distributed to U.S. foreign
service offices in quantities
recommended by the Ameri-
can commercial officer in
each area.
The files also go to offices
of American Express, cooper-
ating airlines, shipping com-
panies, trade centers, trade
fairs and trade associations
anfl other groups interested
in promoting U. S. trade over-
seas.
Diffenderfer emphasized
the value of world-wide dis-
tribution of product informa-
tion thdough the progdam at
low cost in comparison with
other methods. The subscrip-
tion rate is .the only cost
charged a company to include
its literature in the files. Two
pages, for example — a single
sheet printed on both sides—
may be included for $80.

NEW SEATS
New push-back chairs are
being installed this week in
the Cinema theatre, Colum-
bia. Four hundred of the
present seats in Cinema, re-
cently completely rebuilt and
repainted, will be installed in
the Marietta Theatre, begin-
ning next Monday, with no
interruption to the shows.

school in the complex.
How many rooms, what
purposes they will serve and
what they will cost is any-
one’s guess at this point.
Already the project has
begun to grind through some
the
state government which have
control over certain aspects
of building programs. And,
lel there be no misunder-
standing, the state has great
control over what is done lo-
cally where the schools are
concerned.
Such things as
cafeterias, recreation
acreage, water, sewer,
are much controlled.
There has been talk that
maybe the new building
would include an indoor
swimming pool. Such a facili-
ty is not state mandated at
this time. But, schoolmen who
are responsible for develop-
ment of the program recall
that only a few short years
ago libraries were not de-
manded. Yet, now they are
standard equipment and
would be something akin to
an auto without a rear view
mirror. It has been mention-
ed that before the Marietta
development is ready, pools
may be demanded by the
state.
Before much more can be
done, architects must take
the project to their drawing
rooms and begin designing to
fill the needs which finally
are specified.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5, 1966
gin to take definite shape is
not exactly known at the
present. But — Donegal dis-
trict at present has about
used up all available class
room space and within anoth-
er year or two again will be-
gin to be cramped.
The district in past years,
has been able to look ahead,
plan ahead and move ahead
to prevent such things as
classes in hallways, half-time
schools, double shifts, classes
in temporary buildings, etc.,
etc.
How Donegal faces its cur-
rent problems for maintain-
ing proper facilities probably
can be seen in the reflection
of how similar matters have
been handled in the past.
As it appears now, a new,
modern and completely ade-
quate building to meet state
specifications and local needs
will be built within the next
year or two along the south
side of the Marietta bypass.
