Propose School Tax Hike The budget and the band were two priority items at the May meeting of the Don- egal School Board, held on Thursday, May 19, in the D. H. S. library. Fiscal considerations cluded the of a yearly budget which calls for expenditures of $1,892, 300, To meet the locaal respon- sibility for that figure, the board sees a 52 mill real es- tate tax, an increase of five mills above this year’s levy. Musical considerations re- sulted in the hiring of a new band director and the buying of new band uniforms for Donegal high school. A contract was let to a New York firm to furnish complete uniforms at a cost of approximately $7,500. A sample uniform, to Donegal specifications will be made and submitted for final ap- proval before the order is actually placed. Eighty uni- forms are to be bought. Glenn N.
