LANDISVILLE - SALUNGA NEWS

The church council of the
Landisville Church of God
has appointed a building and
improvement committee to
make a complete study of the
church’s needs. The commit-
tee will report on its survey
at the annual congregational
meeting in August.

comer, Russell Sauders, Rob-
ert Edwards, Russell Saun-
ders, Robert Edwards, Amos
Herr, Jesse Snavely, Jr. Hen-
ry Reist, Mrs. David Yoder,
Miss Irene Heisey, Miss Judy
Metzger, Norman Bender, Jr.,

Miss Margo D. Henny,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D,
C. Henny, 285 Leisure. Road,
Landisville, has been iniated
into Pi Rho Zeta sorority at
Thompson College in York.
Miss Henny, a graduate
of Hempfield Union high
school, is enrolled in the me-
dical secretarial course at
the college.

The Ladies’ auxiliary to
the Mount Joy American Le-
gion Post 185 will hold a
meeting on Thursday even-
ing, March 31 at 8 p. m. at
the Post Home.
Hostess for the coffee hour
will be Mrs. Vernon Flowers.
There will be no April
meeting due to Easter anr
the Holy Week.

Applications are now being
received for the Miss Hemp-
field Pageant to be held in
June.
Interested girls may con-
tact any member of the Jay-
cees or last year’s queen, Miss
Trixie Mundey, East Peters-
burg. Applications will be re-
ceived until May 21.

The annual ‘Service to
Mankind” award dinner of
the Hempfield Sertoma Club
was held at the Mount Joy
Legion Post Home in the
form of a ladies’ night with
dinner starting at 6:30 p. m.
The speaker for the program
was Dr. Paul Rummel, head
of the psychology department
at Millersville College. Mr.
Rittenhouse from East Peters-
burg was the recipient of the
Service award.

the Salunga Church of the
Brethren are scheduled as

Choir will sing with the Pas-
tor Rev. Russell Beahm,
bringing the message “Envy’s
Evil Work.”

choir singing, with Reverend
Norman Bowers speaking on
the subject “The Room of
Memories’.
April 8—Ladies trio com-

Germany and the Berlin
Story” a color film was pre-
sented in the Hempfield high
school Auditorium on Satur-
day evening, March 26 at 8
p.m.
Dr. Gerald Hooper, direct-
or of the Travel Film, Divis-
ion of World Color Film Stu-
dios, Chicago, narrated the
film. The film and lecture is
the fifth in a series of six
travel and adventure travel-
ogues being sponsored by the
East Petersburg Rotary club.

us representing high schools
in nine counties in Southern
Pennsylvania was held at

held Mar. 18.
The Lancaster Junior Cham-
ber of Commerce set Thurs
day, Mar. 24 for the annual
“Youth Day in Government”
program. Students elected
from Hempfield helped as-
sume local commpnity and
township government posts.

- Salunga Auxiliary hospital
sewed pads for the Cancer
Society at the meeting on
Monday, March 28 at 8 p.m.
at Zion Lutheran church,
Landisville.

refreshments.

ior high chess teams from
Hempfield Union are tied for
first place in the Lancaster
County Scholastic Chess Lea-
gue as the league entered its
final weeks.

AMP, Inc. has announced a
major expansion program for
its facilities at Landisville.
The plant facilities located
on Stoney Battery Road, will
receive its second expansion
in less than two years with
the construction of a 9,600
square foot addition. The
new addition is designed for
