discussions on the topic ‘The

night from March 20 to 25.

Parents of children enter-
ing kindergarten next fall in
the Hempfield Union School
District registered their chil-
dren for the term on Wednes-
day, March 16.
The enrollment activities
were conducted at the Lan-|
disville, East Petersburg,
Rohrerstown, Mountville, and
Farmdale elementary schools:
Any child who will be five
years old prior to Feb. 1, 67,
is eligible for the kindergar-
ten training.

Dr. George Evans, a resi-
dent psychiatrist with the
Mental Health Institute in
Philadelphia, was the guest
speaker at the meeting of
the Hempfield Woman's club
held recently at the Landis-
ville Fire Hall. His topic was
‘The Behavior of Adolescents’
Mrs. David Silberstein, pro-
gram chairman, introduced
the speaker.
The meeting was a ‘“Hus-
bands’ Night program.”

The Junior Class of Hemp-
field high school presented
“Pillow Talk”, Friday and
Saturday nights, Mar. 18, 19
in Hackman Auditorium at 8
p.m. Leading roles were pir-
trayed by Susan Harry and
Rick Hanna. Clyde Harten-
stein and Debbie Fultineer
were student directors. Co.-
directors of the play are Miss
Judy Kirchoff and Mrs. Ev-
elyn Cramer.

Neighborhood Scouts |
The Donegal Neighborhood
of the Penn Laurel Girl
Scout Council met in the St.
Mark's E. U. B. church in
Mount Joy, March 21 at 7:00
O'clock.
Approximately 150 Brown-
ies, Juniors, Cadettes, and
Senior Girl Scouts were pres-
ent to hear Miss Sue Adams
from York. Sue showed slides
on her trip to the Israel Na-
tional boy and girl scout
Jamboree last August.
Mrs. William Dommel, the
Juliet Low chairman for the
, Donegal Neighborhood spoke
on the Juliet Low World
Friendship Fund and a Girl
from each troop presented a
check to the Council for the
Juliet Low Fund.
The business meeting start:
ed at 8:15 with Mrs. Ted
Godshall presiding. Mr. Ste-
wart Baur, Director of Fin-
ance for Penn Laurel Girl
Scout Council spoke to the
leaders, Asst. Leaders, and
troop Committee members a-
bout sustaining membership.

nominated and voted as an
alternate from our Neighbor-
hood to the Penn Laurel Girl
Scout Council.
It was announced that the
Spring Council meeting will
be held at the Chalet in Dills-
burg April 14 starting with
dinner at 6:30 followed by
the meeting. There will be a
bus leaving Memorial Park
in Mount Joy, at 4:45 to take
anyone who is interested in
going to the Council meeting.
Those persons interested in
attending the meeting should
contact Mrs. Ted Godshall
Neighborhood chairman by
April 1.
Mrs. Charles Shoemaker
gave a report on Day Camp
and told the leaders all regis-
trations must be in by May
13. No later ones will be ac-
cepted. The dates of Day
Camp are June 13-17 to be
theld at the Cove and Sports
Farm. Bus transportation
will be furnished from Mari-
etta and Maytown to the Day
Camp.
Mrs. Shoemaker told the
leaders to tell their girls to
save their oatmeal boxes and


coffee cans and tuna fish or
cat food or chicken cans. The
oatmeal and coffee cans will
be used at Day Camp to
make drums for our family
night. The other cans are to
be used to make buddy burn-
ers.
It was also announced that
if any troops are interested
in marching in the Mount
Joy Memorial Day parade,
they are to contact Mrs. War-
ren Foley, phone 653-9321 by
April 1.
The next neighborhood
meeting will be held Tues-
day, May 3, 1966 at 6:30 p.m,
at Sico Park. The service pins
for number of years register-
ed will be awarded. This
meeting will be a covered
dish supper. Each person
to bring her own place set-
ting, hamburger or a hot dog,
drink and rolls. The women
from Marietta will bring
baked beans, Mount Joy area
salad, Maytown area, dessert.
Troop 27 of Mount Joy will
have a barbecue April 23rd
from 3 to 6 pm.. It will be
held at the Mount Joy rail-
road station on Henry St.
