It- will be a quiet celebra- tion, marked mostly by her family. Mrs. Nissley herself is in bed most of the time and she is affected by the normal problems of advanced age. Coleman, science teacher in grades 7 and 8 in the Donegal high school an- nex, has been selected as a superior science teacher by the Pennsylvania Science Teachers association. He resides in Lancaster with his wife, Lydia, and son, David. He was presented a special certificate at an Annex assem bly on Dec. 17 by R. F. Hall- gren, annex building princi- pal. Coleman has a teaching record of fifteen years in the schools of Pennsylvania. He had his teaching interrupted by World War II when he served in the armed forces and then upon discharge he went into the business world. He was working in industrial chemistry when he decided that he wanted to get back into teaching at Donegal. He has taken various grad- uate courses and summer programs and has attended various workshops and insti- tutes so that he has kept con- stantly abreast of new devel- opments in science teaching. He has travelled and taken college work throughout the United States. Since his arrival at Done- gal the school science pro- gram has been constantly im- proving. His junior high school science room is prob- ably the best equipped junior high school science room in Central Pennsylvania. E. Leatherman, returned missionaries, from Africa. Mrs. Nissley recalled for a Bulletin reporter this week that she was born in the big brick home which stood until recently where the E. U. B. church parsonage is now lo- cated on Mount Joy's Main street, However, her father mother both died while she was very young and she was raised by her grandparents. li Her grandfather was Gabriel Bear, who had built the brick’ home and who also had built the mill now owned by Spanglers. | Mrs. Nissley'’s husband, | Amos R., died 40 years ago. Coleman has been science teacher in the Annex building since it was opened in Sep- tember, 1961. He taught at the high school building for several years before this when grades 7 - 12 were all there. Florin Fire Co. Elects Officers Brady Hess, Florin Ward, has been elected president of the Florin Fire company. In later years, she has had good and loving care from her family, first Mrs. Garber and later Mrs. Keener. She is a member of the Mount Joy Mennonite church and it is no surprise that she is the oldest member of the congregation. She is the mother of five children, two of whom are living—Ada, wife of Henry Garber, and Charles H. Nis- sley, New Brunswick, N. J. who visits his mother regul- arly every three weeks des- pite his 76 years. His visits are one of the bright spots in his mother’s regular routine. In addition, she has eight grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren, making a total of 28 descendants. On that day their mother, grandmother or great grand- mother, Mrs. Martha Musser Wolgemuth, will be 98 years old. Although she is not bedfast, she keeps to her own room most of the time at the home of her son, Irvin M. Wolge- muth, Donegal Springs road. | Michael Brenner Musser. She is in reasonably good health and is visited regular- ly by members of her big, big family. And, big family is not an overstatement. She is the mother of 11 children, 10 of whom still are living. She also has 38 grandchildren and 74 great grandchildren, making a total of 121 living descendants. Mrs. Wolgemuth was born just west of Florin near the big spring to Mr. and Mrs. and a half will be shown, af- ter which Santa Claus will distribute treats.
