He was elected at the com- pany's annual organization meeting, held last week at the fire hall. Other officers elected are: John L. Schroll, first vice president; Steve Supper], 2nd vice-president; Elwood Young recording secretary, and Ray- mond Knorr, financial secre- tary-treasurer. John Myers was chief. Frank Good Jr., was elected assistant chief, and Harvey Stoner, chief engineer named Line Parking Lot At PRR Station A parking lot improvement in Mount Joy which will pro- vide facilities for added mo- torists has virtually been completer east of the Pennsylvania depot on Hen- ry street. The lot was newly paved last week and this week will be lined to establish definite parking spaces. With new lines the lot will accomodate more than 25 autos in two lines — one a- long Henry street and the other immediately south a- long the bank of the railroad cut. Among Those Feted at Olmsted On Nov. 26, Miss Betty Jane Charles, Pinkerton Rd., was one of the guests at the Retirement Ceremonies con- ducted at the Headquarters Building, Olmsted AFB, in Middletown. She was pre- sented a Certificate of Service “in recognition of 22 years of faithful and devoted Fed- eral Service on the occasion of retirement’. At the present time he is planning on attending Indiana university or East- man School of Music. Church To Hold Candle Service Hundreds of candles light the Glossbrenner E.U.B. Church of Mount Joy on Christmas eve. The traditional service will begin at 11 p. m. and will conclude with the arrival of Christmas Day. Each worship- er will be given a candle to be lit at the appropriate time in the service to signify his part in the distribution of the light which Christ brought into the world and which the darkness extinguish.
