The second was from Har old J. Harman of Ventnor, N. J., and we reprint it in full: “Dear Editor's Wife, Enclosed is a photo of three wild pigeons, a part of the collection of Mount Joy's taxidermist, my father, Noah J. Harman. A part of his col- lection is at Donegal high school. I have the rest. Also enclosed is a history of these birds. Thought you may be interested. “We lived at 19 Poplar St. Some time I'll send you some newspaper writeups on the history of Lancaster County grandfather clocks, should you desire them. “John Booth and Lester Roberts were some of my boyhood pals. I enjoy your special write-ups.” The articles which Mr. Harman enclosed were ex- tremely interesting accounts of the story of the wild or passenger pigeons, now ex- tinet. It seems they were at one time unbelievably numerous in this country, but were kil- led by the millions for food and not protected in any way. They have been extinct now for more than 50 years.
