WEDNESDAY, JULY 28, 1965 ® Of This 'n That (From page 1) with playground and swim- ming pool activities, golf tournaments, little league baseball, concerts in the park and even a circus! The last concert in the park, Saturday night, by the Couriers Quartet, a group of very young men singing the old-time gospel songs, was delightful and refreshing. They did an excellent job, and we couldn't help think- ing that they were four young people who were do- ing something worthwhile, fulfilling a mission in life, rather than becoming an un- happy statistic. # * Ww Three pet stories: “Brandy,” the beloved St. Bernard dog of the Philip Wanner family on Donegal Springs Road, is quite a sen- sation in that part of town. Although he is only 6 months THE BULLETIN, MOUNT JOY, PA. old, he is as big as a small pony, and the children can climb upon his back, He is gentle and lovable and very beautiful. “When ‘Brandy’ is full grown, the Wanners plan to have a small cart that he can pull, A baby robin fell from its nest at a home on East Main street last week during a rainstorm. The father of the house picked it up, improvis- ed a “nest” from a basket, and hung it on the porch. Then he proceeded to feed it “worms” of hamburger hourly for several days, meanwhile watching it grow rapidly and become quite friendly. He was beginning to think he might even have the pleasure of “teaching” it to fly one of these days, as he remembered doing once when he was a boy. However, one day this week a Mother Robin found the baby bird, surreptitiously began feeding it herself when the family was not look- ing, and will no doubt be on hand to instruct it when the time comes for it to fly! A baby was born prema- turely to one of Robert Schroll’s beautiful ponies last Saturday morning. Tiny though it was, with head, legs, body and tail in minia- ture, it was well-formed, and is gelting along fine. Ln Mediterranean Seaman Scott H. Trostle, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.
