A Visit From the Columbia Presbyterians
"Twas the night of the Circus
at the Mount Joy Home,
Every creature was stirring, many freaks did roam.
The entertainers performed, all spritely and coy,
In hopes that you all our acts would enjoy.
The guests were nestled all snug in their chairs,
While visions of animals escaping their lairs
Did cause them to wonder if they could escape
From the Wild Man of Borneo, or was it an ape?
When from out of the silence there arose such a clatter,
The band had introduced and all peace did it shatter.
Away on the midway the performers did flash,
Tillie on her tightrope - -
Marky and Sparky ——
- what a smash!
Mimi and Mami, the two headed girl, ’ »
Samson so strong and the twirlers big whirl.
When what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But the frolicking clowns, bringing good cheer.
With a little ringmaster so lively and quick,
Announcing each act, each skit and each trick. =
More rapid than eagles his performers they came,
And he whistled and shouted
and called them by name.
Now Lotta Boloney, now Flim-Flam and Flu-Flu,
On Bessie, on Knuaso, on Charmin too.
To the center of the room, to
the middle of the wall,
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all.
And as all good things when you've heard quite a lot,
Must come to an end, before we're all shot,
I now do exclaim as I leave your sight—
Happy, happy days and to all
a GOOD NIGHT!

TO EAST STROUDSBURG
Mrs. Robert D. Walker and
Mrs. Johnson Martin were in
East Stroudsburg over the
weekend, where they visited
with Mrs. Walker's daughter
Deanna, and attended the
“Miss Poconos’ beauty con-
test which Deanna was run-
ner-up.
