- Home News -
This last week brought
both sadness and joy to our
Home Circle. Mrs. Cora May-
berry passed away March 18
with the funeral service at
Nissley funeral home, and
interment at Schuylkill Hav-
en. The officiating ministers
were: The Rev. Douglas
Dunderdale of Phoenixvilie,
and Rev. Harry Freebairn,
Mount Joy.
For many days we enjoy-
ed the celebration of Miss
Laura Deremer’s 92nd birth-
day, March 17. The preceed-
ing Sunday four of her Lan-
caster friends, Mr. and Mrs.
John C. Howett and their
sons Neil and Scott, were
dinner guests. Five visitors
came the following day, two
of whom were dinner guests,
Mrs. Ellis Mitchell, Union-
ville, and Mrs. Leebach Lo-
gan, Kennett Square. Tues-
day evening Miss Deremer
was the guest of Mrs. W.
Scott Heisey, Rheems, and on
Wednesday evening the Rev.
Harry Freebairn, was the
special guest for supper. Miss
Deremer continues to lead
an active life, even going to
Harrisburg with Miss
Blanche M. Speer on a shop-
ping trip.
A group of about 25, in-
cluding the deacons, their
wives and children, from the
Camp Hill Pa. Allendale
Presbyterian Church, visited
and toured our Home Sun-
day afternoon.
Other visitors:
~ Mrs. Ellery Calif and
Mrs. Fred Wielinga of the
Lancaster Highland Presby-
terian Church, visited the

Huge Antique
Show at Capital
The Eastern National An-
tiques Fair will be held at
the Farm Show Building, in
Harrisburg April 7 through
10.
Exhibitors from a 14 state
area will have more than
100.000 antiques on display
and for sale at this show.
John Altland stated that
people attending this show
can see more antique dealers
and more antiques in a few
hours at this show than
would be possible through a
year’s travel. He also stated
that at this year’s fair, coin
dealers will have their larg-
est display. Due to the great
shortage of coins the demand
has reached its greatest peak
since 1907.
Aside from being
the most beautiful antique
shows staged anywhere in
the country, there will be el-
aborate displays of glass,
china, iron, brass, pewter &
jewelry. Rare paintings,
prints and books will also
play a big part in this great
exhibition.
The show, held in Harris-
burg in the heart of the an-
tique country, is expected to
draw attendance from hund-
reds of miles around. The
grand opening will be held
Wednesday, April 7th, at 1
p.m., when the ribbon will
be officially cut by an out-
standing personality.
In England, a distinguished
woman economist claims to
hear radio news bulletins
before they are broadcast.
Last year, for instance, she
reports hearing a news item
on Charles de Gaulle 2 days
beforehand.
Further possibilities stag-
ger the mind. Imagine ‘“‘tun-
ing in” on tomorrows stock
market news today!
