Lutherans Push Fund Compaign The Lutheran Service Ex- pansion Appeal, a fund-rais- ing effort on the part of Lu- theran churches in Lancaster County timed at securing a minimum of $360,000, has attained 90 percent of its goal to date. This was re- ported by Joseph P. Snyder, | chairman of the Appeal Exe- cutive Committee. Thanksgiving Day has been set by the Committee as the target date for attaining the objective in full. The funds will be used to establish a new Home for the Aging, at Lititz. Results, thus far, accord- ing to Snyder, represent the financial commitments receiv- ed from 38 congregations. There arc 49 churches relat- ed to the Lutheran Service Agency. A number of congre- gations will be determining their measure of support within the next few weeks. This’ action, plus the contin- ued solicitation of special gifts of individuals, accord- ing to the Chairman, should assure the goal being met in full. THE BULLETIN, MOUNT JOY, PA. To Give Trial Sermon Sunday Rev. Harry A. Freebairn, associate minister’ of the First Presbyterian church of High- land Park, Upper Darby, will preach trial sermons on Sunday morning, Dec. 6, at both Donegal and Mount Joy Presbyterian churches. Following morning wor- ship services, each church will meet separately in con- gregational meetings: The congregations, which are served by the same mini- ster, are seeking to fill their pulpits, left vacant by the resignation of Rev. Richard A. Todd, who was called to Clearfield, Pa. COLOMBIA MISSIONARY Rev. Eugene Madeira who has served in Colombia, Eouth America, will speak at Trinity E. C. Church, Done- gal and New Haven Streets, Sunday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. Rev. Madeira is equipped to tell a moving story of one of the critical areas of pro- testant missionary activity in Latin America. As a Mission- ary under the Oriental Mis- sionary Society, he has ful- filled a variety of assign- ments in which his travels have taken him across the backlands of Colombia and into the rural life of that nation. Perhaps the most vital as- pect of Rev. Madeira’s mes- sage concerns his report on the status of religious liberty in Colombia. He is prepared to discuss this issue out of a thoroughly documented body of information. Rev. Madeira presents .a graphic picture of his work through slides in natural col- or. The public is invited. | When in need of printing | remember The Bulletin. PAGE SEVEN ® Landisville (From page 3) 64, widow of Harry S.
