etiquette,
GOON RRORONIROIORIIIIN]Y
Q. Last year a boy I date off
and on walked into the house
with a Christmas gift. I really
didn't know what to say. I
didn’t expect it and naturally
didn't have one for him.
Should I have accepted it? Was
I expected to return the gesture,
A. We hope you remembered
to smile prettily and say thank
you. Apparently the boy ex
pected no more of you than
that. This was his special way
of telling you how much he
had enjoyed your friendship
over the year. Just continue to
be a charming companion.
Q. Something always hap-
pens to me on a date. No
matter how well I plan ahead,
at some time during the eve-
ning, something disastrous hap-
pens. I break a strap, pop a
run, crack a mail, overturn
something, or say the most
awful thing. Isn't there any-
thing to keep me from become
ing a complete social flop?
A. You can begin by being
extra careful in your advance
planning. Make a final check

member, it isn't the end of
the world if an accident does
happen.
Q. My hair just hangs. That
is the only way to say it. Try
as I may to coax it into curls
and puffy styles, it just sags
and hangs straight and limp.
How can I make it more
attractive?
A. This is really your year,
Never before has straight, shin-
ing -hair found more favor. All
that is required is a basic cut-
ting and shaping most becom-
ing to you. Then just keep it
clean and thoroughly brushed.
Perl.aps you can seek some pro-
fessional help in finding the
proper length; but beyond that,
forget about outdated back-
combing and be thankful you
don't have to fight the pin curl
battle. :
