Hart, vice- president and program chair- man. Donald and Ronald Alle- man, sons of Mrs. Fern Alle- man, 345 W. Donegal Street, will be visiting Washington, D.C., this weekend as mem- bers of the Milton Hershey School varsity band, which has been invited to partici- pate in the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. | Donald is a sophomore at the all-boy school. This is his first year as a member of the varsity organization. He is a member of the color guard. | Ronald, also a sophomore, is a member of the drill team, which performs with the band. This is his first year with the organization. LIONS The Mount Joy Lions Club held its annual auction Tues- day night, April 7. Jay Meck- ley had charge of the meet- ing and Harold Keller acted as auctioneer. Items from comic books to pies, cakes & cookies were sold. Bidding was very active and every- one present joined in the fun- When the fire and smoke all cleared away the clerk, Arthur Sprecher announced the sale had amounted to $78. The meeting was called to order by the President Lloyd Derr. It was announced that ice cream sale has been postpon- ed to Monday, April 27, due to inclement weather. Charter night will be held Monday evening, April 27, and will be a ladies night. Literature was ‘passed out to every Lion about the Lancas- ter County Eye Bank, which is sponsored by the Lions in District 14-D. Farm Women 6 Hold Meeting Society of Farm Women 6, met April 4 at the home of Mrs. E. Musser Heisey, R. D.. 2, Mount Joy. Mrs. Mark Geyer, president, was in charge, with Mrs. Elvin Kee- ner leading the devotions and Mrs. Henry Saylor in charge of music. Roll Call was answered with favorite cakes. Mrs. Pauline Keener was auctioneer for the day. Guests who were present: Miss Rhoda Heisey, Miss Rho- da Nissley, Mrs. Walter Beck- er, Mrs. John Heisey, Miss Betsy Heisey, Mrs. Gantz. Miss Jean Geyer was the speaker and gave a very interesting talk on her work in the slum area of Chicago among children of migrant workers. She is a teacher now in the East Earl Town- ship elementary school. She showed slides of her Chicago work. The next meeting will be held May 2 at the Elizabeth- town EUB church, at which time members of Society =19 {will be guests. The program will be given by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer H. Horst and daughters of Hershey RI.
