and a message on prayer tak-
en from the Lord's prayer as
recorded in the 17th chapter
of John.
Last week Mrs. Sara Waite
spent a few days with her

PROMOTED
Robert L. Reisch, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis L. Reisch
311 East Main street was pro-
moted Feb. 11 to first lieu-
tenant at Fort Bragg, N. C,,
where he is a member of the
nursing staff in the 82nd
Medical Company, Support
Group.
Lieut. Reisch entered the
Army in August 1962 and
was last stationed at Martin
Army Hospital in Fort Ben-
ning, Ga.
The lieutenant, a 1958 gra-
duate of Donegal high school,
is a 1961 graduate of St. Jos-
eph Hospital, School of Nur-
sing, Philadelphia.
He was employed by the
Veterans Administration hos-
pital in Coatsville, Va., be-
fore entering the Army.
ABOARD DESTROYER
James W. Gerber, III, sea-
man, USN, son of Mr. and
Mrs. James W. Gerber of W.
Main Street, is serving a-
board the guided missile des-
troyer USS Robison, operat-
ing out of San Diego, Calif.
Robison recently received
the Battle Efficiency Award
from the Commander of the
Pacific Cruiser Destroyer For-
ce. It is awarded annually to
the ship of its class that ex-
cels in overall battle readi-
ness and performance.
NAMED QUEEN
Miss Deanna Walker, daugh-
ter of Mrs. Robert D. Walker
121 east Main street, last
week end was named ‘Miss
East Stroudsburg” by the stu-
dents of East Stroudsburg
college. She and her court of
four other coeds were guests
of honor at a banquet at the
college Saturday night. Dean-
na is a junior, majoring in
elementary education.

iliary to the fire company

MEETING
The annual Congregational
meeting of the Trinity E. C.
Church will be held Monday,
March 9, at 7 p. m.
Devotions will be in charge
of the pastor, and the meet-
ing will be conducted by Ab-
ner Gish, president of the Of-
ficial Board and Presiding
Officer of the Congregation.
Important. items of business
will include reports by the
chairmen of the various
Boards, Committees, and or-
ganizations of the church, in-
cluding plans for the forth-
coming year; adoption of a
budget for the coming year;
decision upon erection of a
new parsonage; and election
of officers for Sunday School
and Church.
EVANGELISTIC MEETINGS
AT E.C. CHURCH
Dr. Harold H. Scanlin, Bish-
op of the Evangelical Congre-
gational church, will be the
evangelist in a week of ser-
vices beginning Sunday even-
ing, Mar. 8 at 7:0C p.m. and
continuing through the fol-
lowing week with services
each night except Monday at
7:30 pm. The services will
conclude with Rally Day Ser-
vices on the following Sun-
day, and Dr. Scanlin will
preach both morning and
evening.
Dr. Scanlin is a graduate of
Elizabethtown College and
the Eastern Baptist Theolo-
gical Seminary. He was hon-
ored with the degree of Doc-
tor of Divinity by his alma
mater, Elizabethtown Col-
lege. He is serving his second
four-year term as Bishop ef
the Church.
Dr. Scanlin’s sermon topics
are Sunday, Mar. 8, “The
Danger of Complacency;
Mar. 10, “A True Concept of
Sin;”’ Mar. 11, “Possessing
the Essential;”” Mar. 12, “Can

for the same 1962 period to
produce earnings per share
of $1.41 for the year 1963,
compared with $1.51 in 1962,
according to J. S. Mack,
chairman of the Board and
President.
Sales in the second half of
the year decreased only .03
percent compared with 3.5%
in the first 6 months, when
most of the loss occurred
bringing 1963 sales to $267,-
836,618 or 1.7% below the
record volume attained in
1962. January 1964 sales set
an all-time record for the
month.
