Briefs Notes From Marietta
Eden Hood was re-elected
president of the Marietta
borough council at its organ-
izational meeting recently;
Paul Portner was named vice
president; Anthony Discavage
was appointed chief of police;
Theodore Brubaker, solicitor
and Elsie McCloskey, treas-
urer and Mrs. Walter Nau,
secretary.
New members to take of-
fice in January were Richard
Penwell, first ward; Conrad
Smith, second ward; and
John Libhart, third ward.

third ward.

Give Baskets
Twenty-six family baskets
to needy families and ten

fruit baskets for shut-ins or
aged persons were given by
the Marietta Community
Friends organization during
the Christmas season. Mem-
bers of the Jaycees assisted
in distribution of the baskets.
