February 7 Hit By Police Car; Leg Hurt George Frank 76, who lives at 210 Mount Joy St. was taken Saturday in the Friendship Fire Company No. 1 ambulance to a Lan caster hospital for examina tion following an accident Friday night on East Main street The mishap occurred in the first block east of the Main and Barbara Street intersec- tion Police Chief Parke Neiss was driving eastward on Main when he noticed Frank step off the sidewalk, between two parked cars and into the path of the officer's car. Neiss had applied the brakes but on the snowy pavement the car, which was traveling slowly, slid into Frank. He was bumped to the pavement, suffered a bruised left leg. He refused medical assistance at the time but the next day his physi- cian advised further exami- nation. There was no frac- ture. Plans Spelling Jam Bor EE The Mastersonville will hold a spelling Jam-Bor EE in the Mastersonvi'le Fire Hall on Thursday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. There will be two spelling classes, an information class and a dutch class. Three prizes will be given in each class. The entertainment will be instrumental music. Refreshments will be sold during intermission. There also will be home baked pies, cakes and cookies for sale.
