In 1949, Sgt. Max was dis-
charged. He was recalled to ac-
tive duty in Jan., 1951, during
the Korean conflict, and was as-
signed to McGuire AFB, N. J.,'
as first sergeant of the 105th
Flight Interceptor Squadron, he
next went to McGhee-Tyson
AFB, Tenn., and, in 1952, mov-
ed to the 5th Air Force Head-!
quarters in Korea where he'
worked as the chief clerk of
personnel services. {
He returned to the United
States in March, 1953 and was
assigned as chief clerk of ADC
Personnel Services, later mov-
ing to the ADC Inspector Gen-|
cral’s office. |
In 1954 be became assistant
secretary of the NCO Club, and
