somewhat new to Pennsylvania,
having first been noticed in to-

| Mr. Thomas Fogie enjoyed a
small, according to the depart-
ment, that they can barely be
seen with the naked eye.
But notwithstanding their
size they can and do cause a
lot of damage and groaning to
vegetable growers. They suck
sap from the leaves which turn
a russet color. The mites are
shaped like a teardrop and are
usually colorless.
Damage at first is confined to
a few plants or spots in a field
and may spread rapidly if not
immediately controlled. Sulphar
dust has proven to be just a-
bout the best controlling agent
found so far.
