McCorkel, local presiding minister of the Columbia con- | gregation, revealed some of the details of this special campaign, | which includes sponsoring the { public lecture entitled “‘Christ- endom or Christianity — Which One is the Light of the World”? All congregations of Jehovah's witnesses throughout the world (there are approximately 14,000 in 159 lands) will participate. Mr. McCorkel will deliver this discourse locally, to which the public is invited. It will be de- livered at the Kingdom Hall, Perry and Union Sts., Columbia, Sunday, April 3, at 3 p. m. After the discourse a new 32 page booklet containing extra- ordinary information will be given free to each person in at- tendance. Some 600,000 of Jeho- vah’'s witnesses will then begain distribution of millions of cop- ics of this special message in many languages throughout the world. It is the desire of Jehov- ah’s witnesses to place a copy in every home. Mr. McCorkel said the contents of this specially prepared booklet had not vet been made public, but its mes- sage was unique and would be of special interest to persons of all fa'ths “Advance preparation and the world-wide scope of this special campaign give indication that this may well be one of the o-eatest religious proclamations in modern history.” Mr. McCor- kel said. Nets $2800 ‘For Church Fund A registered Holstein heifer donated to the church building | fund auction Saturday, March | 26, on the Ray Brandt farm for the Conewago Church of the; Brethren between Deodate and Bachmansville. The heifer was conaied by the | Rev. Daniel Kettering, one of the ministers of {he congrega- tion who is a breeder of Hol- stein cattle. The heifer weighed 1225 lbs. due to calf in May and was purchased by C. S. Erb, Holstein cattle dealer of Middle- town. The contending bidder wag Walter Lehman, cattle deal- {er of Lawn. A baby beef was donated for the sale by the Rev. Robert Young, also a minister of the Conewago church. The baby heef sold for $182.50. A 1320 1b. steer was donated by another member of the | church and sold for $270.60. Two fat hogs were donated by Don- | ald Shope of Highspire s2lling for $45 each. Several sheep and small pigs and heifers were also donated by Jeighbors and mem- | bers. Several items of used farm equipment and various articles of household goods were donat- od. One ton of hay sold for $35, Two tons of corn, one for $42.50 and one for $40.00 per ton The total of the sale of artic- les and livestock donated was $2.540.35. The ladies of the =—— church sold $243.12 at their re- freshment stand.
