Wears Well — When choos-

How to Plane Top of Door
OORS that scrape at the top or

down the high spots, of course,
the best cure.
A problem in connection with the
planing operation, however, is the
likelihood of splitting the wood
when shaving across the end grains
of the door stile. The jig described

the door and the block at either
end. Make two tapering wedges
from a piece of hardwood, making
them an inch thick at their widest |
point.
Place the jig over the end of the
upright door and drive the wedges
into position as shown. the

With the construction pro- |

close to the present rate, ap-

will ze put into facilities in the
four years ending 1958. The re-
port indicates that some $45 mil-
lion of this new money will be |
sought through the sale of addi-
tional Company securities. The |
kind of security and the timing |
of the future offers will depend |
morc
on the state of the money mar-
ket and other factors.
Commenting on 1955, the P.
P. & L. president predicted gains
in total sales. Home, farm, store
and office electric usage should
continue to grow as in past years.
Inlustrial power sales should |
show an increase in 1955 even |
though there may be further A)
lovaing off in a few industries. |
_ Oakes also pointed out to
a that the electric in-
dustry looks to a further period
and emphasized
be a need to
nation’s

of a
of expansion
that there will
make the most of the
power resources. To do this,
called for establishment
national electric power policy
which would clearly define the
basis on which all future power |
be developed. |
He urged that the government |
should not enter into “proprie- |
tary business in this, or any |
field, except where private in- |
dustry cannot undertake it”. |
The use of the nation’s energy |
resocrces is an economic prob- |
lem, he pointed out, and should |
be removed from ‘‘partisian iil
| ities”.
A sound national policy would |
| préduce cooperative and con- |

industry and government |
