gal High School and seventeen
from Hempfield High School
will take part in the all-county

county festival to be held Mar.
12 at the Manheim Township
High School, Neffsville.

The Lancaster County Tuber:

it will appear in the Hempfield

Jeffry Mariner is wearing the
honored gold badge of the safe-
ty patrol this week in the Mt.
Joy Elementary School. Jeff was
given the award because he!

United Nation Trip
William Shireman, Marietta,
and Charles Gerber, Elizabeth-
town R1, were named the win-
ners in the annual United Na-
tions contest at the Donegal high
school. William and Charles,
both seniors at the school, were
named in the Mount Joy Rotary
sponsored essay contest.
The two boys will be escorted
to New York to visit the United
Nation in action as their award.
Simon Nissley, Rotarian, is in
charge of the project.

SCORING RECORD
Big Jay Metzler, Donegal's
versatile center, has the basket-
ball moguls pondering over
Tuesday night's performance. |
Plaping his last county high]
league game, Jay scored the
total of 50 points in the Indians
win over the Manheim Barons, |
84-39. This total output erased
the season's single game high of
43 points set by Sonny Warfel
of Manheim Twp. earlier this
season.
Tuesday's game was original-
ly scheduled Feb. 11, but was
delayed due to a blizzard. Man-
heim, seeking their first win in|
league play, scored the first 8]
points of the game, and closed |
the first quarter trailing by only
2 points, 17-15.

At Elementary School
A spring musical is being
planned by the students of the
Mount Joy Elementary School.
Under the direction of Mrs. Geo.
Broske, a concert pertaining to
the seasons of the year will be
presented.
This original program will be
presented at a spring date to be
announced later. One feature of
the program will be the sixth
grade’s May Pole dance.
