In the two-week bear season

| legal bears was unofficially plac-
"ed in the neighborhood of 400.
Many of these were large
mals, real trophies. Variable
weather in the northern coun-
ties, the true bear range in the
state, provided gunners good
and bad hunting conditions by
turns.
The wildlife authorities say a
plentiful supply of bears is left

joved in recent-year seasons.
