new laurels to an already envia
ble safety record with the win- |
ning of a new state-wide safety |
| contest, it was announced today |
by H. Ferguson, the utility's op-
erating vice president. |
Ferguson accepted the award |
| for the company at a recent an- |
| nual meeting of the Pennsylva |
| nia Electric Association held in |
| Pittsburgh. |
| John Orr, PEA president,
| who made the presentation sta-|
| ted that PP&L had set a record |
for other companies in the state |
| to beat.
To become the first recipient
of the newly created award, sa-
fety-conscious PP&L employ-|
ees worked more than 10 mil- |
lion man-hours without sustain- |
ing a disabling injury due to el-|
ectric shock or burn during the
contest period, July 1, 1953 to
June 30, 1954.
