REV. W. J. SAYRE
The Rev. W. J. Sayre, Elmer,
New Jersey, who at one time
served the Methodist Churches
of Salunga and Manheim, died
Sunday in the Elmer Hospital.
He was seventy-two.
He served in Salunga from |
September, 1907 to September,
1910. He was a graduate of
Dicknison College and Boston
University of Theology. He!
preached in the New Jersey
Conference and was treasurer
of the group for 20 years. |
He is survived by his wife, |
Elizabeth Herr Hiestand Sayre, |
formerly of Salunga: a son, the
Rev. Charles Sayre, Asbury

Mrs. Lily Jane Charles, 55,
wife of Richard W. Charles, 57
Brandt Blvd., Landisville, died
at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at St.
Joseph's Hospital after a year's |
illness.
She was born at Dundee, |
Scotland, a daughter of the late
William M. and Elizabeth Dun-
can Cross. She came to the U.S.
and Lancaster County at the |
age of nine, and resided here |
ever since.
In addition to her husband, |
| she is survived by a son, Rich- |
tard W. Jr., Landisville, and one |
| grandson. She was the last of
| her family.
Friends may call at the Nis-
Funeral Home between 7
| 9 p. m. Friday and the funeral
services will be held at the con-
venience of the family.
