ances simultaneously on the
same circuit with a room air
conditioner that CAN be opera-
ted on a general purpose or
small appliance circuit, there is
a good possibility of an increas-
ed burden on your wiring sys-
tem. Is your wiring up to the
job?
The National Adequate Wir-
ing Bureau advises that you
check to see whether your exist-
ing branch circuits can handle
an added load. Size of a room
air conditioner indicates the load
it will place on your present
wiring system.
Most older houses furnish
current for such equipment
from 115-volt branch circuits of
size #14 wire. A 14- or
unit rated at 115-volts may be
used on such a circuit provided
it is not also loaded down by
| other high wattabel devices. If
