Mount Joy High School, de-
Tig champs of section 1,
| were defeated by Elizabeth-
town High School 14-7 on the
Mount Joy field, Tuesday after-
noon.
Elizabethtown, leading Mt.
Joy 8-7 going into the last in-
ning jumped on Irv Nauman
for six runs. Nauman contribut-
ed to his own downfall with 3
base on balls and the Rams
committed 2 errors.
Joe Weber, third baseman for
the locals, took hitting honors
with a homer and a double.
Charlie Zeller pitched Mount
Joy into the win column in Sec-
tion I of the County High Lea-
gue yesterday but Joe Weber's
first inning triple was the im-
portant blow in the Rams’ 4-3
decision over Hempfield
The game was originally sch-
eduled for today but moved up
because Mount Joy starts its
Easter holidays today.
Wilbur Risser absorbed the
mound loss for Hempfield. That
first inning uprising cost him 4
hits and 3 runs but after that
he was in command, allowing 1
hit and an unearned run. The
unearned run proved to be the
one that beat him as his mates
put ‘six hits together for 3 runs.
In the first inning, Harry |
Frey flied out but = Charlie Z¢l-
ler singled and stole second. He
scored on Charlie Ashenfelter’'s
single. Irv Nauman flied out and |
Hen ‘Klugh singled, putting two
men on base for Weber to drive |
home with his triple.
