Gwen- nie, his wife, bought some lolly- pups for the dog but put them on the bureau. Later in the day she walked iiit0 the room and saw Bus chewing away on some- thing. When she asked him what he was eating he indicated the candy on the bureau. She couldn't keep a straight face and not tell him it was dog food. Heard over cokes at Sloans: Frosh: Something came into my mind and then went out a- gain. Soph: Maybe it was lonely. Down in Washington on Washington's birthday I was on a bus headed for the stores; that had the 1le¢ televisions, when the rookie bus driver ov- errun with unruly passengers crowded in his bus, hollored:- “Hey! All you folks in front please move up, so that them in th’ rear can take th’ places of them in front, and leave room for them that are neither in iront or rear!” It just doesn’t make sense’ Doctors keep telling us that drinking is bad for us . . . . but we notice a lot more old drunks around than old doctors. Within 3 months I was grant ed permission to extend eiwv carrier service to Cedar Lane, after I had presented the pro posal to the Post Offict Depart ment at Washington.
