in town that sure is proud of its
work. The cther day 1 saw this
sign hanging in the window.

Back at the High School the oth-
er day a new candidate just could
not flip that ball into the basket.
Some fellow ' suggested lowering
the basket. The fellow said: Either
that or raise the floor,
We have a rummy here in town
who drinks like a fish. The only
trouble ‘is he ‘doesn’t drink: the
same stuff they do,
I'd certainly like to see how a
fish would act if he swam around
in ‘a tank of Old Granddad or even
Qld Overholt,
at the old Foust Distillery
near Glen Rock, York ‘county, they
raise a lot of hogs and frequently
gave them mash after the alcohol
was extracted.
Now picture akout lifty hogs
staggering around and squealing
after eating a belly full of that
mash. But the funniest thing I ever
saw them do was about a dozen
huddled together in a corner try-
ing to sing Sweet Adeline.
It sounded about as good as a
bunch of crdinary drunks could do.
A man down at Landisville told
me that his wife was trying to re-
duce by touching the floor with
her chin without bending her knees.
Of course I asked him how she
did it and he said she fell out of
Led.
I asked a Florin woman if she
enjoyed the Farm Show.
She said: “Indeed I did.

an argument with his wife and he

mean to their husbands, they must
lead an ape thru the next world
when they die.
She said: Not me because I've led
one arcund this world all my life.
Everything went wrong around
here on Monday and I told! the
fellows I believe the devil is here.
One of ’em said: “I think ycu're
right. Let's lock all the doors and
give him where he comes from.”
That should do it fer this week.
