A WISE OWL |
You may not know it but Charl-
ie Roth is cne guy who is alway
leclering war on mice and rats
When he baits a mouse trap he
uses anything from gum drops i

burger.
Recently he lLaited one with
limburger and he declared that
the cheese was so strong that next
morning he caught a mouse that
had actuallly backed into the trap
A man here claims that his
wife actually charged him $5 foi
a kiss. We feel certain he can do
better than that on the open mar-
ket right here at home.
Back at the Fire House the
other evening a guy said t
when a girl is &s pretty as a pic
ture, almcst any man would like
to have her hanging around
I just read in the paper
an authority on flies claims they
taste things with their feet.
Now we've all heard that some
people's feet smell but lor
think anyone wants to know
whether or not, like the flie
they taste.
You've got to hand it to a cer-
tain business man frcm town who
had a date to meet his wife at
3 p. m. Monday, kut for the life
of him, he couldn't remembe
where. So rather than have her
find out he'd forgotten, he ud
t- his secretary:
I've forgotten where I'm sup-
posed to meet my wife at three
o'clock. You call her up and ask

her where you can reach me at
that time.’

An E-town couple re havin
trouble deciding what to do with
their son since he finishe colle:
His fond mother sugg “Nov
that Junior 1} gra te t
rollege, couldn't you ke him into
business with wu?” And his
pop replied “3 tha i

Here's cne an eighth grader
telling:
A doctor’ n, a lawyer's son
and a preacher's son were bragging
about how much money their fa-
thers made.
Doct:r’s son “Mj lad
talks to a person and charges
fifteen dolllars
Lawyer's on “My dad j
talks a little, writes a Iittie =
charges forty dollars.
Preacher’s son: That's nothing
My dad gets up, talks a few min-
utes, then sends six men
carry back the money
Mrs. G. downtown w telling
me about an experience she had
while shopping in

hardware store at 1
terday. She called to the clerk
“Have you any wallpaper?’
“Yes, said the clerk. “Here's scme
of that new kind with the pas
already on the back.”
“Oh 1 like that. Can I put i
on myself?” she asked.
“I guess you can,” anwered the
clerk. “But I think it would
look better on the wall.”
You can’t beat labor nohow
‘When one of my men came in un-
usually late from lunch, I grabbed
him by the shoulder and bellowed
, “Youhare seventeen: minutes
“Where have you been?’ “I've
been getting” my hair cut>down at
Gecrgie’'s” he replied. “5"You
mean you got your hair cut onthe
office time?” 1 exclaimed. “Well,
it GREW on office time,” he said
“Aha!” ‘1 answered, “But it ALL
didn’t grow on office time.” But)
