School Wardrobes
Separates will be popular again |
| this winter for school wear with
| additional emphasis placed on pock- |
| |
ets, groups of small ones or pairs
of very large ones. The lead- |
ing color is camel, using com-
hinations of materials as suede |
and corduroy. Gray, green and |
something red, are also chosen for
school cl:thes. Sweaters are al- |
ways good but the preference is
for the shorter fitted kind rather
than the loose, boxy and long
mes Choose a color from your
tweed, checked or plaid skirt for |
the sweater. Tweeds are fore-
mest in tais season's skirt and
plaids and checks are often wrap
arounds. Jumpers are very |
popular.
Food Tips
Add slices of cooked frankfur- |
ters for additicnal flavor in po-
tato salad....Make a sandwich
spread of leftover meat, adding a
pickle relish and mayonnaise. ....If|
dressing is added to cole slaw
about an hour before serving and
{ salad kept cool in refrigerator,
the flavor is improved....To hard
toil eggs, put them in cold wa-
ter, bring to a boil and cook for
about 12 minutes. Plunge into
| cold water to cool them immed-
iately. This tenderizes eggs and
prevents dark rings on them.
Inspirational
Power is ever stealing from the
many to the few. The manna of
popular liberty must be gathered
each day or it is rotten. -Wendell
Phillips.
