No watermelons at our house
We have heard many a tale ol
fellows varnishing themselves in a
corner when finishing a floor, but
one that beats that happened on
Donegal Springs Road last week.
Martin, the 5 & 10 man, was
painting the house roof and to
to avoid having their son follow
hs daddy out on the roof, Mrs. M
locked the door. About a Talf
hour later she went downtown,
and not too long after that Mar-
tin finished painting himself into
the door But he couldn't get in
The door was locked. Patiently
he waited, until a lady came down
the street, then he called her and
he went in and unlocked, freeing
the prisoner.
While at the shore a Salunga
lady bought some of those new
synthetic stockings. But her hus-
band says she is very confused be-
cause they are made of air, water
and coal. Now when she gets a
run in her stocking she don’t know
if
a clinker!

Playground News
During the past week the play-
ground was hampered by holidays
ind hot weather. It was closed on
Monday, July 4th and Wednesday,
July 6th for the Hershey picnic.
During the hot afternoons the
sprinkler system is turned on to the
relief and enjoyment of the chil-
dren. Because of vacation week in
Mount Joy the “Little League” has
been inactive the past few days,
and Team No. 1 is still undefeated
in league play. The girls have been

Donegal Airport News Gretna Theatre
Excellent flying over the July 4th
weekend found many local pilots
and their friends making
various points of interest.
Sim Horton flew to Hershey and
Gettysburg Airports.
