Thief Stole : a New
Car at Agency E.
A 1947 model automobile was
stolen from a show room a short
distance east of Elizabethtown, on
Thursday night, according to State
Police reports.
The Police said the stolen auto
was found damaged several hours
later. A window was broken

reported, and the thief then drove
the auto through the garage
entrance.
A truck driver discovered the
car abandoned on the Florin-Mt.
Joy road. Police said it had ap-
parently gotten out of the control
of the driver, careened into a field
and then crashed against an em-
bankment. A fender was damaged.
Police said the theft occurred be-
tween 10 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m.
Friday.

The Fall meeting of the State
Association of Artificial Breeding
Cooperatives in Pennsylvania will
be held at Landisville Oct. 13 and
14, association officials announced

BOY, EIGHT, KILLED ON

Henry H. Eckman, Jr., eight-year
old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry H.
Eckman, Sr. Klinesville, was in-
stantly killed at 4 p. m. Wednesday
when he was struck by an automo-
bile on Route 411 near his home, as
he was walking home with a group
of companions from the Sterline
School, near Chickies Hill.
The boy was struck by a car op-
erated by Clarence Siegrist Colum-
bia RI.

was injurer Friday when he fell
thirty feet down an elevator shaft

James H. Breitigan, sixty-two, a
native of this boro, died at Lititz
yesaerday. He was vice president
and trust officer of the Farmers
National Bank of Lititz. Deceased
was a, graduate of Elizabethtown
College.
Albert B. Miller
Albert B. Miller, eighty-seven,
died Friday at his home in Silver
Springs, West Hempfield Town=-
ship. At one time he had been a
funeral director, conducting ‘a
business under the name of Eber=
sole and Miller. He also was a re=
tired cabinet maker. He is sur<
vived by these children: Edwin H.,
at home; Gabriel H, Columbia;
and Flizabeth, wife of Jacob Hess,
Lancaster R2. There are also five
grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren, He was the last of
his family.

LEAGUE CHAMPS PLAY HERE
This week's Rotary meeting was
divited into two parts. The first
featured the Elizabethtown ‘School
String Ensemble, which for two
vears have been champion of the
Interstate Forensic Music League.
The Ensemble, directed by Prof.
Clauss, played three selections for
the club.
The remaining part of the meet-
ing was in game form. With the
Fellowship Committee supervising,
it was know the correct name,
nickname and club classification
