On Thursday evening a group of
eighteen American Legion Aux-
iliary members conducted a Ward
at Coatesviile Hospital. One
twenty-three patients
Bingo played,
cigarettes and candy were
tributed to each man. Refresh-
ments consisting of ice cream and
cup cakes were served. At the
same time a large number of
magazines, picture puzzels and
playing cards were delivered.

Mr. Nissly was born

egal Township, Lancaster County,
Penna. He was educated at the
Union and Rock Point Schools, E.
Donegal High School and Millers-
ville State Teachers College. He
taught school at the Breneman
School for one term and the Joint
Schoo] for two terms.
In 1895 he was elected teller- at
the Union National Mount Joy
Bank after he had served
clerk: during the summers of 1892,
1893, and 1894.
In 1905 he was elected assistant
cashier, a position which he held
for five years. In 1910 he became
cashier. He has been cashier for
thirty-seven years and was con-
nected with the bank for over
fifty-five years. During this period,

For The Week
These occurred

Irvin G. Myers, forty-nine, Eliz-
abethtown, was prosecuted for fail-
ing to yield the right of way. He
was implicated in a two-car acci-
dent near East Petersburg:
Motorcycle Crashes Car
An operator of a motorcycle

the vehicle suffered minor injuries
at 10:15 p.m. Saturday when the
motorcycle on which they were
riding crashed head-on with a
slow-moving automobile, Chief of
Police Elmer Zerphy reports.
Chief Zerphey said Paull Hossler,
twenty- four, 103 Hanover St., Eli-
zabethtown, and Leroy Hess, twen-
ty-six, Florin, were riding west on
Main Street in Mount Joy and col-
lided with an automobile driven

and shoulders, and was admitted
to the St. Joseph's hospital. Hess,

THURSDAY AFTERNOON
Fire by a connected
electric caused damage to a
bedroom in an apartment, the
residence of Mrs. Dorothy Zeller,
12 N. Market St. at 2:30 p.m. last
Thursday.
The Friendship Fire Co. respond-
ed to the alarm which was turned
in by Leroy Shaeffer, who saw
the smoke while at work at the
Stehman’s Flour Mill.
At the time of the fire, which
