These exhibitors from this vicin-
ity received the following prices
for their beeves:
William Endslow, Marietta RI,
999 pounds, sold at $25.75 per hun-
dredweight; James Endslow, Mari-
etta, 840 pounds, at $20.50 per cwt.
Those 219 baby beeves, weighing
212,670 pounds, exhibited by boys
and girls from eleven counties aty
the 4-H roundup at Lancaster last
week, were sold for $46,070.53. They
averaged 971 pounds each and
brought an average price of $21.66
per hundredweight. The grand
champion and the reserve champion
both brought 60 cents per pound.
152 head of fat lambs also ex-
hibited, weighing 13,540 were sold
for an aggregate of $2598.87. These
Jambs averaged 89 lbs. each and
sold for an average price of $19.19
per hundredweight.

ship of St. Luke's Episcopal Church
have collected and repaired toys
for distribution on Christmas Eve
to the poor children of the com-
munity. The toys this year are in

Building Camoaign
Special gift solicitation in Lan-
caster General Hospital's building
fund campaign for $728,500 was un-
der way throughout the county this
week following organization
meeting of county leaders in the
office of the Schock Independent
Oil Company here.
Alfred C. Alspach, Chairman of
Section 2, which comprises the
northwest area of the county, pre-
sided at the meeting and stressed
the need which has impelled Gen-
eral Hospital to seek funds for ad-
ditional buildings. He said:
“This is a cause that sells itself.
Anyone at all acquainted with the
hospital knows of the overcrowded
conditions there. Plain common
sense requires that we get more
beds to care for not only present
demands, but also the demands of
the future.
