On Sunday morning a unified
service was held in the Ironville
United Brethren Sunday School
with Carolyn Mummaw, president
of 'the C.E. acting as Superintend-
ent, the 62nd anniversary of the
founding of C. E. was observed.
Mrs. Iona Metzger, taught the Sun-
day school lesson to the entire
school, short talks were made on
the origin and history of C. E. by
Jacob Kauffman, Mrs. Lorraine
Rettew and Sara Jane Mummaw, a
round table discussion in charge of
Rev. D. L. Shearer assisted by Mrs.
Lydia Staley and Ruth, Mrs. Lor-
raine Rettew, Paul Metzger, Wilbur
Albright, Glenn Kauffman and Mrs.
Harold Albright.
At 7 P. M. C. E. was observed
with a song fest, Jacob Kauffman,
presented a report of the mid year
C. E. convention at Lancaster.
Private Andrew Musser, located
at Preble, Maine, has been trans-
ferred to Aberdeen, Md.
Private James Garber, stationed
at Washington, D. C., was home
over the week end to visit his
wife, Betty Fiddler Garber.
Mrs. Leo R. Smith, who has been
sick for several weeks, has been
transferred to the Columbia Hos-
pital.
The firm of Albright & Rodkey
with stores at Ironville and Kin-
derhook, have installed new show
case electrified refrigerators. They
make a big improvement in both
stores.

erstown, spent the week-end at the
home of Miss Mary Elizabeth Stauf-
fer.
The Luther League of Zion Luth-
eran Church met at the home of
Miss Ruth Hoffman, Monday eve-
ning. The meeting was in the form
of a Valentine party. Those present

It was decided that Boro Council
should see Mrs. Weaver about
cleaning the entire building and the
Fire Company will pay their share
of this expense.
A house committee of 5 was ap-
pointed to control the activities of
the Fire Company. President Groff
appointed Harry Derr, Benjamin
Groff, Aarion Shelley, James Pen-
nell, Isaac Wagner.
A committee of 10 to assist the
Entertainment committee in their
activities was named. Motion car-
ried. They are Earl Zink, Horace

Wertz, Oscar Hendrix, William
Brown, Harry Derr, Lester Mum-
ma, John Charles and Michael
Randler.
The company will ask council for
an appropriation of $200.00.
Tre following new members were
taken into the Company: Lester
