the W. End County Baseball League
on Maytown diamond. S. Poff hurled
nice ball for the winners and also
collected two triples. Landisvllle ral-

CAMP REAM MEMBERS AND
WIVES HELD A PICNIC
Sunday was one of the perfect
deys for the members and spouses of
the Camp Ream Hunting and Fish-
int Club, and a few guests. The
we ather was ideal, the attendance
100 percent and there is every indi-
cation that all present had a fine
time.
The crowd were guests of one of
ite members, the editor, at his sum-
m:r home “The Springs,” below
town. The day was spent in var-
ious pastimes such as quoits, boating,
pinochle, ete. Of course refresh-
ments, too, were an important part
of the program. They were served
in the pavilion, an addition to The
Springs this summer.
Among the winners in the various
contests were the following: Quoits:
Most games, A. D. Garber and Hen
Strickler; Most Ringers, Geo. Mump-
er; Most Arguments, Charlie Roth
with Curley Hendrix a close second;
Most Standards, Ab Weaver; Cham-
pion ice cream eater, Ed Ream;
Chicken corn soup, Jim Berrier, nine
plates; Best appetite although not
feeliny well, Chriss Mumma; pin-
ochle, A. D. Garber and modesty
forbids us from mentioning his part-
ner. John Newcomer acted as re-
feree at she quoit contests.

A. D. Garber, Mr. and Mrs. George
Mumper, Florin; Mr. and Mrs. Hen-
ry Strickler, Elizabethtown; Abner
Weaver, Newville; Mr. and Mrs. Jas

The Girl Scouts of Mt. wil
again collect magazines and paperd
thruout this section, Saturday, Aug.
11, 8 to 12 A. M. asking all to kindly
place their donations of the above
mentioned, on the curb, a truck call-
ing for them as heretofore. The
troop plan to enjoy an outing at Mt.
Gretna during the month of August,
funds being raised thru the sale of
old papers and magazines.
