The total amount of the state
appropriations for school aid in the
59 county districts is listed at $173,-
545.25. Of this amount, $167,645-
-25 is the State's share of the teache
ers’ salaries and $5,800 additional
is the bonus for closing one-room
schools to form consolidations.
There are deductions of $1,504.34
pro-rated among the districts, re-
presenting the amount paid to the
superintendent of schools in excess
of the amount the State pays itself
and $2,135.57 for the maintenanca
of deaf and blind pupils at institu-
tions not conducted by the districts,
$86.55 for maintenance of orphan
institutions, and $360.00 for rotire-
ment fund.
Bonuses In County
The bonus for closed schools is at
the rate of $100 for each school
closed. Warwick township receives
$800 additional as such bonus; East
Hempfield township, $700; Manheim
township and Salisbury township,
$600 each; Ephrata township and
West Lampeter townships, $300
each; Colerain, Conoy, East Earl,
Mt. Joy, Paradise, and Rapho town
ships, $200 each; and Bart, Cones-
toga, Earl, East Coecalico, East
Donegal, Elizabeth, Fulton, Little
Britain, Manor, West Donegal and
West Earl townships and Washing-
ton and Marietta boros, $100 each.
The largest check in Lancaster
county will go to Lititz, and the
smallest to the Lincoln Independ-
ent district. The net amount each
