TROJANS WON GOOD
GAME FROM LITITZ
On Monday night the Trojans de-
feated the fast going Lititz Alumni
Five by a three-point margin, 35-32.
The game was fast throughout the
40 minutes of play, Lititz, leading
at half time.
At the beginning of the second
half, Charles was placed at forward
in the Mount Joy line-up and, main-
ly through his efforts, Mount Joy
overcame the lead and enabled them
to win the game.
In twenty minutes of play, Joe
accounted for 4 field goals and 1
foul, making a total of 9 points.
The games have not been patron-
ized the way a winning team of
the town should be.

for years has been one of the lead-
ers in this section and this year
can boast of one of the best teams
since the organization of that club.
In order to bring teams of this
calibre to Mount Joy, it will be nec-
essary to have the support of the
people. You can give the team this
support by being preseut at the
games on Monday nights through-
out the season. Your patronage
will be greatly appreciated by the
team, which is doing all it can to re-
present the town in a creditable
manner.

OUR TROJAN TEAM LOST
TO LANCASTER Y. M. CA.
Manager Horace Leiphart’s Y. M.
C. A. tossers turned in their nine-
teenth straight win for the season
Wednesday night on the home court
when they trounced the Mt. Joy
Trojans by a count of 45 to 31.
The Y. M. C. A. cracks had things
nearly their own way throughout
the first half which ended with the
score at 27 to 16. In the third per-
iod Manager Leiphart withdrew his |
regulars and Mt. Joy immediately |
started to close up the gap. “When
they came within two points of
knotting the count, the regulars
were rushed back into the game and
soon had the situation in hand.
James, Herr and Loeb were the
big guns for the Y. M. C. A., while

HIGH BOYS WIN GOOD
GAME FROM QUARRYVILLE
Quarryville High School, former
leaders in the Class “B” County
High basket ball league, met with
an unexpected reverse here Friday
night at the hands of the Mount Joy
high team, the locals nosing out the
strong visitors, 19 to 15.
Injuries to two of their star
players and the forcing out of an-
other through personal fouls, pos-
sibly ruined Quarryville’s chances of
victory. Keene went out in the
first half through the personal route
and Montgomery and, Wagner suf-
fering leg injuries. Both are ex-
pected to be out for some time.
The withdrawal of the three
players forced Quarryville to play
the latter part with only four men.
