THE MOUNT JOY BULLETIN, MOUNT JOY, LANCASTER CO., PA.
ooo Mt. Joy Lassies
__ Had Big Season
(From page one.)
lassies defeated the Manor High
girls one game. One game remains
to be played and the locals are sure
of wining that game as they de-
feated the team decisively on the
team’s home floor.
: Out of 16 games which the local
girls played they lost only three,
one of those games being lost to
Manor High School, and the other
two being lost to the Burger Col-
leens, of Lancaster. In the games
which the locals lost to the Lancas-
ter team two of the regular players
did not play. Both Captain Lydia
Shank and Anna Mumma did not
play in either of the Lancaster
games.
The locals have scored 358 points
against a total of 253 opponents’
points. They have played every
high school team in Lancaster coun-
ty which showed any class and they
defeated every one both games
which they played except the Manor
High lassies.

The record follows:

Miss Engle was leading scorer
with 83 field goals and 19 foul goals
to her credit. Captain Lydia Shank
was second with 68 field goals and
15 foul goals to her credit. It is
possible that Captain Shank ‘would
have equalled Miss Engle if she
would not have been out of three or
four games on account of sickness.
Both of the high scorers played the
forward position during the season.
Miss Backenstoe, a newcomer near
the end of the season, was third,
scoring six field. goals straight.
