contents of an envelope which they
had picked up on the street just a
few minutes earlier. This envel-
ope was said to contain two $500
bills and some Liberty bonds.
Taylor fell for the game entirely.
He even came to his home here
got $15 of his own cash and per-
suaded his wife to part with her
bankroll of $135. He returned to
the same corner and informed the
two men that he had managed to
obtain the necessary cash.
Thereupon the swindlers told
Taylor that they must go to the
Greist building and see their em-
ployer to get the two large bills
changed. Of course, they took
Taylor's $150 with them, with in-
structions to wait on the corner.
Taylor is still waiting for his
$300 share of the money in the
envelope and also his own $150.
Police are investigatng.
