WE NEED PROTECTION By the manner in which ber of our business men innocently eaught in an adv good evi- denca that we should have protection of some sort or other against erooks such as these. Then again this town is overrun scheme recently, is very with all kinds of solicitors and near- ly every one of them wants money for some “worthy cause.’ One day last week and within an hour, three people called at the Bulletin office solicitmg money. One was from Lancaster, another from Harrisburg and the third was col- lecting for an institution at Balti- more. People of Mount Joy must have a reputation as cheerful givers or we would not be called upon so fre- quently contribute. Few, if any of us, object to giving toward a worthy cause but we do hate to be buncoed. As a suggestion, why not make every solicitor who comes to town, first go to the Burgess and get per- mission to solicit here? The Bur- gess, if in his opinion, the cause is worthy, could grant permission and if he thought otherwise, our peopl would e a lot of money. No one should be allowed to solicit unless they first get mission. No erook will ask this privilege for fear of getting caught. ally, something should be done. sav ner of Re en- 3 J + we or use of is for 3 " tion of vel . that be’ concen . x i WwW not a 3 e | 0 1 r I ) i i } n Ic C 1 Cot > : N 1 1 3 fc x 1 c sto! r ) ne ge C of r no- I i Ix wo Nl A } 1 1 C p on p > Y { © o - C 7 e 0 resirict the nu any cies, = would be brought ve a —— or & the solution o t Y lem oy Natirre Orly Lend ds $ Tin me Man SEs but little flow soon wus! he rp is yery whie 1 “him for un hou C.
