as this matter has been under consi-
deration for the past two years.
Pumping Engineer's Report
George W. Shatz reported having
pumped 3,340,000 gallons of water
in 334 hours by water power during
the month of March.
Board of Health
Secretary M. M. Leib reported 76
cases quarantined from January 1
to April 1. Sixty-eight of these
were chicken-pox and none of the
cases were fatal.
Treasurer's Report
Mr. Geo. Zeller reported that the
Boro account is overdrawn to the a-
i mount of $245.91 and that there
are balances in the other accounts
as follows: Water $5,185.75, Inter-
| est$52.00.
A Bad Practice
Mr. Miller stated that there were
numerous complaints relative to
{ throwing broken bottles, tin cans,
ete. on the driveways of alleys. Up-
on motion a notice was ordered
published in the local paper asking
people to discontinue this practice.
Upon motion New street was or-
dered to be repaired with stone. Al-

The Stone Bids
Bids for stone for the Boro for
this year were then opened. Both
dealers J. N. Stauffer & Bro. and
Ezra Engle bid exactly the same i. e.
$1.50 per 2000 1bs. delivered. The
contract was ordered divided be-
tween the two.

The resignation of Edgar Eshle-
man, who was elected to Council at
the last election, was presented. read

to the Jefferson Memorial Fund. In |
no case will more than ten cents be
accepted from any school child.
This school offering will go to liqui-

enduringly and in impressive form,
at Monticello, as concrete evidence |
of the splendid part taken by the |
school children of the country in es-
tablishing this National Memorial.
The school children will give their
offering to their teachers at the ex-
ercises on Friday, April 11th, to be

secretary of the Lancaster Unit, |

A Real Ball Team

capsules. Treat each bird individu-
ally by fitting a capsule into the end
of a piece of rubber tubing, pushing

and then ejecting the capsule by
means of a wire plunger. Follow
this treatment the next day by @os-
ing the flock with Epsom salts at |
the rate of one pound per hundray|
birds.
