He was on trains between Harrisburg
and Altoona for more than 40 years.
He was a native of this place and a
son of the late Jacob R. Long, for
| many years cashier of the Union Na-
[tional Bank. The funeral services
| were held in the home of Mr. H. C.
i Schock, in this place, on Monday af-
| ternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment was
[made in the Mt. Joy cemetery.
Anna L. Landis
Anna L. Landis, died at the home
of her mother Anna E.
| Florin, on Saturday evening
| complication of

vears, 1 month and 19 days. She|
[was a member of the Mennonite
| church. Deceased is survived by her
mother and two sisters, Mary and
Margaret at home. Also three half
brothers John and Jacob, of near Mid-
dletown and Benj. of Bainbridge.
Funeral services were held from her
late home on Tuesday 1:30 and 2
o'clock in the Donegal street Menno-
nite Church, in this place. Interment
was made in Good's cemetery.

Mrs. Aaron L. Witmer
Mrs. Aaron L. Witmer, of Beverly,
near Elizabethtown died in the Lan-
caster General Hospital Thursday
morning, of a complication of dis-
eases, aged 61 years. She was a
member of the Mennonite church,
and is survived by her husband and
me daughter, Mrs. Benjamin L. Long-
enecker, of West Donegal township.

on the state highway and the P. R.

men spent Ascension day along the
Donegal creek in quest of the speckled
ones in that spring water with the
usual results.
The Penn Lime Stone and Cement
Company has been awarded the con-
tract to furnish fifteen thousand tons
of crushed stone to be used to con-
struct a large bridge and arch way
near Duncannon, Pa., to be shipped
over the Pennsylvania Railroad. This
will cause quite an activity at this
large crushing plant.

Risser, H. E. Garber, James Brubak-
er, Martin Kraybill and their families
and Miss Ada R. Kraybill enjoyed an

Golden Eagle A. C. will play

Juniors at Elizabethtown next Tues-
day evening.
The Golden Eagle A. C. played its
first game of the series with the Eliz-
abethtown Juniors here on Saturday
and lost 29 to 12. Poor fielding and
errors lost the game.
The Golden Eagle A. C. traveled
to Lancaster Decoration Day after-
noon and played the Franklin A. C.,
losing by a score of 20 to 4. A 8-
base hit by F. Schneider and the
pitching of Bard were the features of
the game which was played at Ross-
mere ball park.
