At a point in the road encountered a snow drift about three It had frozen after the thaw and the horse's feet became wedged in the drift. The animal plunged to free itself and in doing 80 struck the back part of the right front hoof with the sharp toe of the hind foot completely tearing off the heel of the front foot.
